Overview
Perched above Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles, the renovation of this 1980s house called for a timeless, modern design. The previously dark and confined residence was transformed into a clean and simple space. The newly designed kitchen opens up onto an exterior patio and fireplace where film and photographs can be projected onto the retaining wall. Large glass sliders link the kitchen environment to the exterior patios to the north and south, diminishing the difference between room and landscape. Outdoor patio areas serve as extensions of the kitchen environment where people can use interior and exterior space interchangeably.
